Color Switch Guide, Rules, and Tips

Color Switch is a one-tap reflex game about patience. Your ball falls unless you tap to bounce it up, and the way up is blocked by spinning four-colour rings and sliding bars. You can pass only through the section that matches your ball's colour. Touch any other colour and it's over. Colour changers along the way switch your ball to a new colour.

How to Play

  • Tap to bounce the ball upward; it falls under gravity between taps. The ball waits until your first tap.
  • Each obstacle has four colours. Passing through a section of a different colour ends the run.
  • The small four-colour wheel between obstacles changes your ball to a different colour.
  • Collect the star in the middle of each obstacle for a point. If the ball falls off the bottom of the screen, the run ends.

Strategy and Tips

  • Don't rush. Hover below an obstacle with small, steady taps until your colour reaches the gap.
  • You can hover inside a ring too: pass the bottom, collect the star, and wait for your colour to reach the top.
  • Double rings always show the same colour on both bands at the crossing point, so treat them like one thick ring.
  • Right after a colour changer, check your new colour before you commit to the next obstacle.

Background

Colour-gate games became a mobile craze in 2015, when a one-tap ball-and-rings game topped app charts around the world. It's a reflex game where waiting is usually the right move.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did I lose when I touched the ring?

Your ball can only touch its own colour. Any other colour ends the run, even if you just grazed it.

How do I get past double rings?

The two rings spin opposite ways but always line up in the same colour where the ball crosses, so wait for your colour just as you would with a single ring.

What does the spinning wheel do?

It's a colour changer. Passing it switches your ball to a different colour.
