Simplified Mahjong Guide, Rules, and Tips
Play a quick round of simplified Mahjong against three CPU opponents. Chow, pung, kong, win on a discard or self-draw, and build seven pairs.
How to Play
- 136 tiles, no flowers. Win with four sets and a pair, or seven distinct pairs in a closed hand. No minimum score. Only the next player may chow; any opponent may pung, kong or win. Win takes priority over pung/kong, then chow. The nearest eligible winner wins. No thirteen orphans, robbing a kong or scoring. Draw from the front; kong replacements come from the back, with no reserved wall. An exhausted wall ends the round; kongs require a replacement tile. Random dealer each round. Opponent hands stay hidden until results.
Strategy and Tips
- Keep pairs and connected number tiles; discard isolated honors first.
- Chow and pung make seven pairs unavailable. Keep your hand closed when pursuing seven pairs.
- Watch discards and exposed sets, and keep more useful draws available.
