Minesweeper Guide, Rules, and Tips
Minesweeper is a logic puzzle hidden inside a grid of covered squares. Reveal every safe square without clicking a mine. Each number tells you how many mines touch that square, and with careful reasoning you can clear most boards without guessing.
How to Play
- Revealing a mine ends the game.
- A number shows how many of the eight surrounding squares contain mines.
- Revealing an empty square automatically opens the area around it.
- You win when every square without a mine has been revealed. Choose Beginner, Intermediate, Expert, or a Custom board.
Strategy and Tips
- If a number equals the count of covered squares around it, all of those squares are mines.
- If a number already has that many flags around it, every other neighbor is safe.
- Learn the 1-2-1 and 1-2-2-1 patterns along walls; they appear constantly.
- Start in the middle of the board or a corner, then work outward from the open areas.
